Blanket for Little O
I made this blanket for my friend Joe’s new baby, Brock Samson O’Rourke. As you can probably tell, the O’Rourkes are Irish and extremely proud of it. This blanket was a bit of a rush job because Brock was born a month and a half early. But I think it came out very well. Here’s a close up of the detail. I did the O freehand. I got the shamrock pattern here:...

Geek Chic Swap
I made all of this stuff for oddacity over on Craftster as part of a Geek Chic Swap. First, a Gryffindor scarf. All done in half double crochet. Next, a scarf inspired by a scroll bar. It took me two tries to make it. The first one buckled really badly. This one took a lot longer, but it was worth it. This is one of my first attempts at jewelry. I took keys off of an old iBook and burned a...

Nightcrawler Amigurumi
Done for an amigurumi swap, it’s my favorite character from X-men, Nightcrawler. I used a new technique I learned from my last project for the gloves and boots. I also adjusted my regular amigurumi person pattern to have thinner legs. I think it looks better. I’m especially proud of the ears on this guy. They came out exactly how I envisioned. Also, the prehensile tail came out really...

Zelda Fairy in a Bottle
I just finished this as part of my Geek Chic swap on Craftster. It is a fairy in a bottle from the Super Nintendo game, Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past. I was worried that she would be too big for the bottle, but she came out just small enough to fit. It was kind of hard working from a 16bit screenshot, so I took a little liberty with her. I used this pattern that I bought on Etsy:...

Through Any Window Baby Blanket
My friend is having a baby girl. This is half of her shower gift. I don’t make many blankets, so I’m glad this one came out pretty well. I changed the pattern a little by using a simple shell border instead of an extended picot. I also only used two colors. Pattern: http://thekidneybean.wordpress.com/crochet-patterns/through-any-window-baby-blanket-coming-soon/ Border I’m...

Piranha Plant Amigurumi
This was a gift for my friend who is visiting from Pennsylvania. We met at a Nine Inch Nails show earlier tonight, and I was frantically working on this up to a half hour before I left for the concert. It is a Piranha Plant from the Mario series of Nintendo games. Bought the pattern on Etsy and edited it a little mostly because the pattern wanted me to do way too much math. I flattened the pipe a...

Shikamaru Amigurumi
My good friend requested this for Christmas. It’s a little late, but it was worth it. This is the fifth ami I have created from my basic people pattern. Personally, I think he is the best. He is based on a ninja from the show, Naruto Shippuden. I used Simply Soft yarn instead of the Vanna’s Choice I usually use to get the color green I wanted. Honestly, I didn’t really like...

Soul Eater Amigurumi
My fourth Amigurumi. Soul Eater from the anime Soul Eater. I’m very pleased with how he came out. I feel like each ami is getting better. :) Here is Soul from the front. (The stand kinda makes him look skinnier in the middle than he actually is.): Here is the back: Here is a close up of his shoes. I was worried about them because Soul’s shoes are pretty intricate. They came out...

Harry Potter Amigurumi
I made this Harry Potter amigurumi for Kerallyn in our Crafty Teachers Swapon Craftster. Here he is from the front: And from behind: Here is a close up of his face: A close up of his vest and tie: And a close up of the little cuffs I made to go under his robe sleeves: He definitely took a little time. As usual, his hair took the longest since I fringed each individual strand of embroidery...

Kitty Ear Hat
My friend, Heather, requested a kitty ear hat for her birthday, and try as I might, I couldn’t find a pattern I really liked. I pretty much just winged it with some chenille and a 6.5mm hook. I like how it came out except that it’s a little big. She loves it anyway.

Claude the Cactus
I made this cute little guy from this pattern: http://stellarb.wordpress.com/2008/03/03/inspiration/ He is for my 14-year-old cousin, and I am extremely pleased with the way he came out. You can see the green underneath the fuzz much better in person. This was my first amigurumi with fun fur, and I really like the effect. I almost hate to give him away. Here he is in his little pot: And here he...

It's Hard to Overstate My Satisfaction
I found a sort of pattern for this at 3 o’ clock this morning. I was so inspired, that I stayed up all night making it. I give you, the Weighted Companion Cube from the video game Portal. My husband is a huge fan of the game, so I surprised him with this when he woke up. I used this pattern and a 4mm hook for the corner pieces:...

Crochet Viking Beanie
I crocheted this beanie as a gift for my grandmother who is a HUGE Minnesota Vikings fan. I bought the pattern from Etsy, and I think it turned out pretty well. I’m a little disappointed in the right horn, but overall, I am pleased.

Sasuke & Naruto Amigurumis
These are the first amigurumi dolls I have made without a pattern. They are from the anime, Naruto. I’m very proud of the way they turned out. Their hair took as long to make as their bodies, but it was worth it. :) This is Sasuke Uchiha. He was the first one I made. This is Naruto. I tried to make him the same size as Sasuke, but he ended up being fatter. And here they are together....
